Tier-on-Tier Shutter Inspiration

Closs & Hamblin made to measure bespoke tier-on-tier wooden plantation shutters

Tier on Tier Wooden Shutters are possibly the most flexible style that we offer, functioning in the same manner as full height plantation shutters, except where we would normally place a mid-rail, the panel is in fact split into two separate operating sections. This allows the top half to be folded right out of the way, so that you can maximise the light ingress, whilst maintaining privacy through the lower panels.

The configuration of our tier on tier wooden shutters provide an enormous amount of light control and privacy options to suit your unique requirements, whilst looking stylish and suiting every décor. Tier on Tier wooden shutters are particularly well suited to overlooked windows and rooms in the home or workplace that are perhaps short on light. By keeping the lower tier closed and the top tier open, privacy is maintained while allowing light into the room above, either by opening the shutter louvres or by completely folding the top tier panels back against the wall to allow the maximum amount of light in.

Tier on Tier Wooden Shutters are perhaps at that their most flexible when the hinged panels of the shutters are narrow because this more easily allows them to be concertinaed and Bi-folded back against the wall to create less intrusive in the room. Wider shutters will never fold back as neat and tidy as smaller panels and leaves the same kind of look inside as French shutters give to the outside.
