Timeless, striking and nature-inspired

With over 65 years of design excellence, Laura Ashley is one of the world’s best-loved home and lifestyle brands. Their journey traces back to 1953. It’s when Laura and Bernard Ashley began hand-printing fabric at their kitchen table in their tiny flat in Pimlico.

Founded on a rich design heritage and on traditional values of quality and originality. The Laura Ashley brand has been nurtured to become synonymous with beauty and design. Its style is constantly evolving to remain distinctive and inspirational. Evoking the alluring beauty of the British countryside and a timeless mood of peace and serenity.

So, taking inspiration from nature, make way for floral prints, harmonising the look of any space. Solid shades of blush, duck egg, blues and silvers create a home complete with bespoke style, inspired by the rich heritage of Laura Ashley archives.

And now transforming your home has never been easier with our extensive range of elegant wallpapers. Printed in the UK and easy to hang, our innovative paste-the-wall wallpaper means you can simply apply the paste to the wall and hang the paper to dry. No fuss or pasting table necessary and when you fancy a change, removing it couldn’t be easier. Simply wet the paper, lift a corner and watch it peel away in one strip.

The beginning of a journey

The story began when Laura and Bernard Ashley begin printing textiles on their kitchen table in London in 1953. Old Burlington Street showroom opens in 1955, that sadly faces flooding that destroyed much of the equipment. On the 25th anniversary, Laura Ashley Ltd was awarded The Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1977.

In 1982, Book of Home Decorating is published and Laura Ashley is invited to decorate a bedroom in the US Embassy in Washington. Sadly, the icon passes away on September 1985, with company being directed by her husband. Her legacy is carried on, with opening a manufacturing in Wales, opened by Princess Diana in 1988. Bernard Ashley retired as a president in 1993, and Laura Ashley Ltd continues to be one of Brits favourite shopping destination.

The Laura Ashley story continues to evolve with a growing family of brand partners who build upon the Laura Ashley lifestyle. Browse our Laura Ashley curtains & homeware products and bring the signature design to your home.
