Patchwork Crafts - students will learn Quilt-as-you-go techniques to make a set of patchwork placemats and a tote bag for a book/magazine. This is a fun class, suitable for those new to patchwork, that will cover the basics of rotary cutting and machine piecing patchwork whilst quilting at the same time. The techniques are easily transferable so students will be able to make other items as gifts for friends and family in their own time. Lots of inspiring ideas and examples will be brought along to every class by the course tutor. Students may bring their own sewing machine or reserve a store machine when booking.
You will need to bring: Rotary cutter, ruler and mat, sewing thread, sewing notions – scissors, pins, needle.
Patchwork fabrics for 2 placemats and an unlined tote bag are included in the course fee. Students will choose their own batting and backing fabrics and may add a lining to their tote bag.
