Get to know your sewing machine and stitch up a small wallet for your handbag too. The best way to get to know your sewing machine, is to work on a project. A little wallet for cards, teabags or tissues is an ideal small project to get you started. You will learn how to thread your machine & bobbin, adjust the length of your stitch, play with fancy stitches (if you have them), move the needle position and use zigzag stitches. We will also explore the fun of freehand machining. We will concentrate on the basics on the day but bring along your instruction manual and we'll be able see what else your machine can do! Bring a basic sewing kit too - scissors, threads, pins.

These covered notebooks make wonderful gifts and are a delightful addition to any workspace. Choose fabrics that remind you of seaside holidays or days in the countryside, geometric designs or colourful patterns. Bring a hard or cardboard covered notebook up to A4 size and choose 2 fabric fat quarters to cover your book. There will be a pen pocket on the front so you'll be super organised and won't be rummaging around looking for a pen, when you need to make some notes. You will learn how to measure around your notebook, create pockets and use wadding to create a stunning cover that you can use over and over again, once your notebook is filled up! .
Bring your own sewing kit and a rotary cutter & mat & ruler, if you have one. You may book to use a machine in our sewing room or bring your own - please confirm at time of booking.
